Is edible rice paper safe for dogs?

I've seen some cupcake toppers made of edible rice paper that I want to use on my dog treats but just wondered if it's safe for dogs to eat them?

Chef's Answer ~ From what I can determine, edible rice paper is made from rice flour, tapioca flour, salt and water. All of these things are safe for dogs.

My concern would be any additional coloring or preservatives that may be used to make these cupcake toppers. Another area of concern is the shape of the toppers. A dogs mouth is very soft, so be careful with any decorations that may have sharp edges.

Otherwise they seem kinda fun and a nice alternative to the full sugar decorations that are typically used for cakes.
