Zoe posing for her birthday picture!
I made this recipe into mini cupcakes. I cut the tops off, frosted with a little of your cream cheese frosting recipe, put the tops back on & put a little dollop of frosting on the very top.
Our Shih-Tzu, Zoe, celebrated her fifth birthday on June 5th & we gave her a party. She wore a princess party hat & scarf. I served her cupcake on a birthday plate. She absolutely loved them! There are plenty leftover, which I put in the freezer. Thank you so much for this simple & delicious doggie recipe!

Will need to use another type of flour that isn't wheat.
Chef's Answer ~ For humans, when baking with wheat or gluten free flours, one typical complaint is the texture. However, that's where the benefit of baking for your dog trumps baking for your human family and friends.
Your dog, most likely, will not mind if the texture is more dense. He is just going to be thrilled to get his very own homemade dog treat.
So, with that said, you don't have to make as many adjustments as you may think. When working with Garbanzo bean flour you will want to mix it with another wheat and gluten free flour. You could mix it half and half with brown rice flour, for example.
For this dog cake recipe you would use 1 cup of bean flour and 1 cup of brown rice flour.
I hope this helps. Happy Dog Treat Baking! :)

Made these for my dogs birthday. All dogs LOVED them. We sent a load to our vets and one dog who was very ill and hadn't eaten in a long time even loved them!! I even tasted them and they aren't too bad. Thanks :)

I did not use any frosting and I make the cupcakes in regular muffin tins versus the minis. My dog and her pals absolutely loved the cupcakes! I'll have to make another batch to freeze again soon. One of her little pals even ate the paper liner too before we could get our hands on it. :)

I have made this recipe several times and have always had great comments. All dogs love these, even the pickiest pampered pooch I know will sit for this treat.
